Where do I start with Kim and Daniel. These two know how to live and love. From their friends to their family to each other, they truly know what it means to love and accept every person for who they are. I wish more people would live by their motto, “You do you, babe.” If there ever was a power couple, they are definitely it. Needless to say I am so thankful for wedding planner and friend Lindsay Townsend with Cloud Nine Event Company for bringing us together.
Kim and Daniel live in Manhattan but decided to travel to Nevada to have their two wedding celebrations. One at The Chateau at Incline Village in Lake Tahoe and another a few days later at Burning Man in Black Rock City. I had never been to Burning Man before, so tagging along as their photographer was something I not only looked forward to but knew would challenge me photographically. Despite being their photographer, I was invited in as a friend. A few days prior to the celebration I was able to spend some quality time not only with them but their friends as well. I couldn’t have asked for better company to share my first burn with. The day of the celebration started at 3 am on bikes where we road out into the deep playa trailing behind their own personal art car designed like a television. Sunrise in the deep playa was spent listening to the artist Tycho while some friends wandered off to set up their alter. The wedding itself was loosely planned and perfect in every way for the type of wedding photographer I prefer to be - free of expectation.
I have no doubt I will get to spend time with these two in the future and wish them all the love and happiness that they deserve! Special thanks to my friend Brian Walker for hopping on as my second photographer for their first wedding celebration in Lake Tahoe.
